Widow Strong Newsletter: Join Us for a Special Event!

We welcome the crisp air of fall which is always a warm reminder that the holidays are coming!

We had a wonderful Widow Strong Girls’ Night Out last Friday! HUGE thanks to Clean Juice at Johnson Ferry & Studio Movie Grill in Marietta for generously providing a FREE healthy eating class and movie studio/popcorn to our Widow Strong members! Watch our recap video here! (BTW, Chop On, Braves! I mistakenly scheduled our first Girls’ Night Out on a Braves game and, well, lesson learned). 🙂

While many of us LOVE celebrating the upcoming holidays (my family included), this time can be a very painful reminder for widows and their children.

The fourth quarter is like our Grief Empowerment Super Bowl at Widow Strong as we offer very special events to serve and empower the holiday season for our widowed families during this sensitive time.

One of the ways we fund these special events is through our partnership with the Miles for Bethany 5K. This event is a major sponsor of Widow Strong Programs in honor of Bethany Rutledge, a wonderful and inspiring wife, mother, and triathlon coach who passed away a few weeks before her twin one-year old sons’ birthday. Bethany’s family is holding their second annual 5K in Bethany’s honor which equally supports three nonprofits that she loved, including Widow Strong.

Helping out is easy! 

• Register your family for this 5K virtually from anywhere in the world, or join us in-person in Atlanta, or join as a free in-person volunteer this November 13th!
• We need 20 volunteers for this event. Did I mention that volunteering is FREE?
• When you race or serve at Miles for Bethany, you benefit vital Widow Strong programs!
