Dear Brave Ones,

Happy Independence Day! I am thankful to live in America as well as for the heroic efforts of our first responders, teachers, medical personnel, military, emergency workers, police, and firefighters for all they do for us that often doesn’t receive recognition.

I recognize that no system is perfect and there are always areas for improvement. This day we celebrate the adventure, the innovation, and the diverse unity it has taken, however difficult and hard-won, to forge our country. Let us pray for safety, understanding, connection, and renewed courage as we move forward, #StrongerTogether.

1. Widows Serving Others: I am in awe of our widowed community as well as our supportive community! The Bible shares stories of widows that rise up to serve their communities in times of trouble and I’m so inspired by the courage, determination, and generosity of spirit displayed as we come together to distribute meals at the Widow Strong Widows’ Empowerment Center to other widowed families, shut-in elderlies, as well as traditional families that are experiencing hardships. The compassion our pain gives us becomes a purpose and that’s how we are stronger together! #WidowLeadership

We were able to inhabit this building to serve widows because our friends at BioSweep Southeast sent a mold remediation team to make sure our Widow Strong Widows’ Empowerment Center was a healthy space to breathe! They also offer intensive cleaning services too! HUGE thanks to BioSweep Southeast for supporting widows and their children and helping us open the Widows’ Center three years ago!!
