Parable of Quinoa and Slime

Planning dinner while Arie makes slime, yet again, I open the freezer door and ask: “Would you like kale and quinoa burgers for dinner?” A pause, and then Arie answers, “No, thank you.” It’s a quick, easy, healthy meal, so I ask, “Why not?” Arie answers my question with a question, “Would you say that again?” Maybe her teenage brain was too engaged in slime creation and didn’t fully understand the deliciousness I was offering, so I repeat myself, “Would you like kale and quinoa burgers for dinner?” To which Arie calmly responds, “Now, take a moment to re-evaluate your question and then you’ll understand my answer.” We both burst into laughter. Well played, Grasshopper, well played.
