PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS DOCUMENT AFFECTS LEGAL RIGHTS.

This Agreement includes a release of liability, assumption of risk, medical authorization, and media release.

This Participant Release, Waiver of Liability, Media Release, Medical Consent, and Event Agreement (“Agreement”) is executed in favor of 180 Your Grief, Inc. DBA Widow Strong by the individual signing below (“Participant”), or if Participant is under eighteen (18) years of age, by Participant’s parent or legal guardian.

In consideration for being permitted to participate in this event and related activities, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are acknowledged, Participant voluntarily agrees as follows:

1. Purpose of Event

Organization exists to serve and connect widows and their children with experiences and resources that share God’s health, hope, and healing after loss.

Participant understands this event is intended as a community gathering and may include outdoor participation, family activities, meals, storytelling, photography, volunteer interaction, and optional event experiences.

2. Participation and Event Activities

Participant understands participation is voluntary.

Participant agrees to comply with event guidelines and follow instructions from Organization leadership, volunteers, and designated event representatives.

Participant understands activities may include:

  • Community gathering and fellowship
  • Outdoor participation and walking
  • Food and beverage service and consumption
  • Family and children’s activities
  • Photography and videography
  • Optional observation of or participation in gardening or event experiences
  • Interaction with volunteers, participants, and partner organizations

Participant understands activities may occur on property owned, operated, controlled, or maintained by third parties.

Organization reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct is unsafe, unlawful, disruptive, or inconsistent with the purpose of the event.

3. Assumption of Risk

Participant understands participation may involve known and unknown risks including but not limited to:

Slips, trips, falls, weather exposure, heat, allergens, insect exposure, uneven walking surfaces, food sensitivities, illness exposure, emotional responses associated with grief-related conversations, and other risks inherent in attending a public gathering.

Participant voluntarily assumes all known and unknown risks associated with participation.

Participant certifies Participant is physically capable of participating in the event.

4. Release and Waiver of Liability

For purposes of this Agreement, “Released Parties” means 180 Your Grief, Inc. DBA Widow Strong and its current and former directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, event partners, sponsors, property owners, affiliated organizations, participating ministries, and entities supporting the Event, including, without limitation, Love Atlanta, Passion City Church, The Home Depot Foundation, Chastain Park Conservancy, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives, affiliates, successors, and assigns.

Participant releases, forever discharges, and agrees not to sue the Released Parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, losses, damages, expenses, or obligations of any kind arising out of or relating to participation in the Event.

This includes claims relating to bodily injury, illness, death, emotional injury, property damage, medical expenses, transportation, and economic loss.

Nothing in this Agreement releases claims arising solely from gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or conduct that cannot legally be waived.

5. Medical Authorization

Participant authorizes Organization and Released Parties to provide or obtain emergency medical care if Participant becomes ill or injured and emergency contact cannot reasonably be reached.

Participant understands and agrees that all resulting costs and expenses remain Participant’s responsibility.

Organization does not provide health, accident, disability, or medical insurance coverage.

6. Media Release and Perpetual Use Rights

Participant agrees to be photographed, filmed, or recorded during participation.

Participant grants Organization, Released Parties, affiliates, successors, licensees, media partners, Widow News Network, and designees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to photograph, record, reproduce, edit, modify, publish, display, distribute, transmit, create derivative works from, and otherwise use Participant’s name, likeness, image, voice, appearance, statements, and participation in any media now known or later developed.

Such use may include promotional, fundraising, educational, website, social media, archival, advertising, documentary, broadcast, and mission-related purposes.

Participant waives rights to inspect, approve, revoke, or receive compensation.

Participant understands media may remain publicly accessible indefinitely.

7. Child Participation and Supervision

Participant understands children and families may attend this event.

Parents and legal guardians remain responsible for the supervision, care, and custody of their own children during participation.

Participants shall not transfer supervision responsibilities to volunteers, staff, or other attendees unless expressly arranged and acknowledged in advance by the child’s parent or legal guardian.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for determining whether activities are appropriate for their child’s participation.

8. Community Respect and Confidentiality

Participant acknowledges attendees may share personal stories relating to grief, healing, family experiences, and personal growth.

Participant agrees to treat personal information shared by others with discretion, care, and respect and not intentionally disclose private information without permission.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed and interpreted under the laws of the State of Georgia.

Exclusive jurisdiction and venue shall lie in state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia.

10. Severability and Electronic Signatures

If any provision is determined unenforceable, remaining provisions shall remain effective.

Electronic signatures and digital acceptance shall carry the same legal effect as original signatures.
