Less Stuff More Life Surprises

 In General

Less Stuff More Life Surprises: Seriously downsizing a 4,000 sq ft house and packing to move isn’t easy, but there’s also unexpected God-surprises: a beautiful place to live, beautiful friends joining in the process, and experiencing the power of our #180WarriorWidow teammates banding together to empower our family as we face this transition. Another God-surprise is happening tomorrow.

One of our founding widow teammates, Marni Feinberg Ratner, happens to be an award-winning interior designer and owner of Studio M Interiors in Atlanta. http://www.studiominteriors.net/

Marni’s designs have been featured in Atlantan magazine, Atlanta Home Improvement magazine, and on Chip Wade‘s HGTV show Elbow Room, to name a few. Her studio has also been chosen as one of Atlanta’s Top 15 Best Interior Design Firms! (Check out all her interior design press with this link: http://www.studiominteriors.net/press.html).

I called Marni this week, sharing my challenges in choosing colors that won’t be too dark in a basement apt that needs a style-makeover. She graciously offered to meet tomorrow (Sunday) with my upcoming widow-soon-to-be-housemate (she will live above us in the main part of the house), my girls, and me to help us choose just the right color palette for the basement apt so it looks tiny house FABULOUS!!

When my girls found out Marni was coming to help us, they immediately started cutting and pasting pictures from magazines to create design vision boards for their room and our home to share with Marni. Her gift of time and talent makes downsizing and moving to a basement apt. into a stylish Tiny House adventure! Sharing the interior design decisions with my girls gives them a voice in our soon-to-be-smaller space. Now, they are excited to style our new digs and move from our current 4,000 sq ft home.

Widows are powerful women who have been transformed by the fires of grief into powerfully kind leaders that have a passion to help others. Thanks so much, Marni Feinberg Ratner, for sharing your formidable design skills to make our new #tinyhome beautiful!!
