🤩 Bonfire Tonight & More Widow Strong Events!

Hello Again!

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your patience and support!  I heard a friend say once that:

“Rest is its own act of faith.”

It probably sounds crazy to talk about rest as we enter the holiday season. Holidays can be a mixed bag: a sensitive time and also a joyous time for all of us, especially widows and fatherless children.

I’ve also been in my own season of rest after some health challenges. God has been teaching me precious lessons in the process. Here are four ideas that I hope help you too.

  • Live your life. Don’t let your life live you.
  • Prayer helps Prioritize
  • Rest, Rebuild, Radiance!
  • Don’t be Rushed

A word from Mishael

You are not alone! To journey together during this season, we are sharing fun, fabulous pop-up events and online activities for widows and fatherless children in partnership with local churches, nonprofits, and businesses!

Widow Strong Snapshot:

  1. Care: Through our pop-up events, we love to care for widows & their fatherless children
  2. Community: We extend invitations to join our grief support community of small groups and youth group events hosted by local churches.
  3. Cultivate: Through this process, together we are cultivating health, hope, and healing while joyfully fulfilling the call of James 1:27!

In the coming weeks, we will share more details…for now…Let’s dive into the in-person & online events made available through the diligence, generosity, and kindness of our amazing tribe of widows & community partners!

Did you know that October is Depression Awareness month? Depression can come in many forms. Dr. Kirk Walters, Senior Pastor of Mount Paran North in Marietta, GA, shares an excellent sermon on practical and spiritual ways to cultivate resilience when dealing with depression.

Pastor Kirk understands the loss of a spouse and shares excellent insights with practical strategies for mental and spiritual resilience. His talk on depression resilience starts at minute 22.
Check out North’s YouTube channel to watch other messages from this series!

Wow Wow Wow! Oh what a night!!

At Widow Strong, we have quietly welcomed into our community and included mothers of fatherless children for years. Our tribe understands this grief journey and loves to provide emotional support.

Atlanta expert photographer, Pitter Goughnour,  tragically lost her former husband, the father of her daughter, when her daughter was in her senior year of high school. We are so grateful for Pitter, who graciously represented Widow Strong at this past Wednesday!  Pitter said,“I love Being Apart of the @bestselfatlantaover40&fabulous Amazing “Family!” I am so honored to walk the runway in mo’s homecoming dress that her dad bought her the night before he passed away! 🙏🏼

AMAZING NIGHT! So grateful for Widow Strong to be featured at the Best Self Atlanta Magazine Fashion meets Passion fundraising event and cover reveal party! I am so honored  to represent Widow Strong on the runway to support this amazing Charity & Ministry!! So great to see friends and fellow-widows Gita Patel and Vanessa Milner Eberbach tonight!! Love the Widow Strong Community!! Thank you Chuck Wolf & Norman Zapien for donating to the auction!”

THANK YOU
Miles for Bethany 2023

Bethany Rutledge is featured in our curriculum because she was such an inspiration and expert in health and wellness. After her passing, her family created a wonderful way to honor her memory and inspire others to get active and give back to their community. We were honored to be a part again this year in the Miles for Bethany 5, and are so grateful to Bethany’s family for their continued support and love for our Widow Strong community!
